Jim Thompson currently serves as a consultant to senior care communities under the name
ThreeHillsConsulting (threeHillsConsulting@Gmail.com).
His services include support operations assessments, support services educational training as well as design consultation for new and renovated long-term care facilities with a pragmatic emphasis on the end user. He has had more than thirty-seven years of management experience including over seventeen years of healthcare facilities management. He has earned a B.S. in engineering, an M.S. in management as well as a Masters of Healthcare Administration. Mr. Thompson is currently a licensed nursing home administrator and has been published in several professional publications.
After receiving his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois and concurrently being commissioned as an officer in the regular Navy, Mr. Thompson served over twenty years on several ships and shore facilities, retiring in the spring of 1991. His naval career included service as commanding officer of two shore facilities and engineering officer aboard two of the aforementioned ships. He had three deployments to Vietnam.
Following his service in the Navy, Mr. Thompson was employed by the ServiceMaster Company as a contract manager where he first became involved with the healthcare industry. His employment with ServiceMaster and subsequent employment with a not-for-profit long-term care facility included various acute care hospitals and significantly two upscale continuing care retirement communities in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Since his retirement from the Navy, he has served as Director of Facilities Management at several long-term care facilities as well as Director of Support Services for a multi-facility skilled nursing organization. Mr. Thompson has also served as the owner’s representative for several construction projects during his long-term care experience.
In addition to his being published in several professional magazines, Mr. Thompson has taught GED, has participated in the creation of standardized testing for various school systems throughout the nation and has written and taught several courses relating to safety and support services within the long-term care industry including various continuing educational courses for nursing home administrators. He is currently authoring a support operations guide for nursing home administrators.
Mr. Thompson is married to his wife of over thirty years and has three grown daughters with two new grandsons, Caleb and Seth. He and his wife, Gail, currently live in North Carolina although he grew up in Illinois and his wife is a native to New England.
Yvonne Cancino
is an R.N. she received her training for her LPN in Casper, Wyoming and then went on to get her R.N. in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She has had a diversified career with many specialties. She worked as a Pediatric and Neo-Natal nurse in New Mexico, worked in Home Care and Hospice in Tucson, Arizona, she is a certified Hospice Nurse. She then moved back to Wyoming and worked for the prison system in Wheatland, and then a Long Term Care Facility in Casper.
Yvonne moved back to Tucson and worked as co-ordinator for a Hospice agency and is now working as a case manager. While holding these positions she has given numerous in-services, has been a mentor to many new nurses.
She is also a gourmet cook and has catered many events in Tucson.
Yvonne has a teenage son and is very involved with his school and his sports activities.
